Sauerkraut

September 17, 2021

Oh my God, not another post on food….

Yeah, I hear you, so I’m not going to bang on about how healthy my lunch was (but it was pretty damn healthy) and how you should put down the Snickers bar…that’s for another time.

No, I want to share a super powerful, yet almost forgotten about, ingredient that is on my plate.

You can see it there, just above the carrots…it’s winking at you….

In fact I made this sauerkraut with cabbage, carrots and garlic so it tastes super yummy.

The reason I put this “acquired taste’ food on my plate for almost every meal is because it contains billions of probiotics.

As Terry Wahls has pointed out many times in her teachings, it’s the cheapest way to get probiotics into your system.

Sure, some people might need fancy store bought probiotics but the majority of us just need to eat something that isn’t pasteurized or over cooked.

That’s where sauerkraut comes in.

Simply chop up a cabbage, add something else for flavour like carrots or garlic, put in some salt and squish it all into a jar.

The salt will bring the water out of the cabbage and you might need to pour some away. Let it sit for a couple of days so the bacteria (probiotics) start to have an orgy and then you are good to go.

Whack it in the fridge and make sure you put a spoonful on your plate for every meal….that could include breakfast….if you’re brave.
