Managing clients with scoliosis can be a challenge for many therapists and coaches. It doesn’t matter if you are a physiotherapist, osteopaths, chiropractor or a pilates teacher scoliosis management just isn’t taught well at school
The Scoliosis Correction Protocol™ was created to give therapists and coaches an easy 7 Step exercise based tool so that they can offer hope and guidance to both adolescents and adults suffering from scoliosis.
The Protocol is built on the foundation that a whole body, 3 dimensional approach to scoliosis can fill the gap where modern medicine just wants patients to ‘wait and see’, wear a brace or have surgery.
The protocol is designed for slowing down, stabilizing or even regressing scoliotic curves. Participants will be able to select the most appropriate exercises, education and mindset training for their clients by using a frame work based on the following principles:
Physical – how does their body respond to gravity, ground reaction force, mass and momentum. (Gray Institute).
Behavioural – what are their main motivators for the client to work with their scoliosis and how can we utilize them in their rehab?
Biological – what are the most appropriate exercises, nutritional advice and lifestyle modifications for the client?
At the end of the course participants will be able to prescribe specific mobility, strength and endurance exercises for the 4 major scoliotic curves:
1. C – Shape Curve also known as a Levoscoliosis
2. Reverse C shape Curve also known as Dextroscoliosis
3. S Shaped Curve
4. Reverse S-Shaped Curve.
The course is structured around 7 Steps.
